Meet Matthea Schor, our latest member spotlight!
Croton On Hudson Emergency Medical Services, September 27
A lifelong Croton resident and 2021 graduate of CHHS, Matthea joined Croton EMS as a sophomore in our Youth Corps. She went on to serve as Youth Corps Captain for two years before becoming the youngest EMT in Croton EMS history at just 17, after New York State began allowing 17-year-olds to certify during the pandemic! Originally from Burnt Hills, NY, Rich has been a dedicated member of Croton EMS for 9 years. He currently serves as Treasurer and is a member of our board of directors, and he previously served as vice president. Amanda is a native of the area, having grown up in Cortlandt Manor. Amanda has been a dedicated member of Croton EMS for three years, spending much of her time as a mentor to our Youth Corps members. Amanda takes her commitment to EMS beyond her involvement in Croton; She teaches BLS/CPR at Phelps Hospital to hospital employees and also serves as an instructor for EMT students at the Hoch Center ... In the month of August, Croton EMS responded to 83 calls for service

The month was actually a breath of fresh air for our agency, as the three preceding months of May, June, and July all had call volumes of over 100 each.
